Baltisches Haus Shopping Centre, located at Ragaudžių g. 2, Panevėžys, has been awarded an updated international BREEAM In-Use certification, reflecting the quality of building management and its environmental impact.
Just like three years ago, the shopping centre achieved a high, Very Good rating, with the strongest recognition in the categories of Resilience to Natural and Human Impacts, Resource Use and Energy Efficiency. This is the second Baltic House building to receive an updated BREEAM In-Use certification.
“We are some of the largest commercial property developers and electricity buyers in Lithuania, therefore, minimising the environmental impact of our operations is one of our goals, influencing both our daily and strategic business decisions. In pursuit of the BREEAM In-Use certification renewal, we optimised the microclimate system of the shopping centre, further reducing the building’s energy resource consumption. Reducing energy resource consumption aligns with one of our goals under the ISO50001 energy efficiency management system. Since the end of last year, we have been maintaining all our buildings under this energy efficiency management system”, says Viktoras Lukaševičius, Head of Facility Management at Baltisches Haus.
Baltisches Haus invested nearly 1.7 million euro in the 1600 m2 A+ energy-efficient shopping centre opened in 2019. In addition to the main tenant, Rimi store, the shopping centre houses Gintarinė Vaistinė pharmacy, Vilniaus Alus beer store, a cafe, and a flower salon. Next to the shopping centre, is an 85-space parking, including two stations for electric vehicle charging.
A total of 18 retail buildings have been certified with BREEAM in Lithuania, including 5 owned by Baltisches Haus in Vilnius, Panevėžys, Kėdainiai, Kretinga and Lentvaris.
The certification partner is UAB Vesta Consulting.
