Bokšto skveras – among the best architectural projects

The business and leisure complex Bokšto skveras has been recognised as one of the five best architectural projects in Lithuania in the “Žvilgsnis į save” (Look at yourself) 2021-2022 awards organised by the Lithuanian Architects’ Union.

According to the international jury, the thoughtful and painstaking reconstruction of the abandoned area of Vilnius Old Town has preserved its true identity and tranquillity. It is currently a destination for visitors to rediscover Vilnius and its abundant architectural heritage.

In addition to Bokšto skveras, awards went to the creators of the Vilnius Pilaitė Gymnasium “Nemuno 7” cultural space in Kaunas district, the events and concert hall on Zarasas Lake island and Pelėdžiukas kindergarten in Vilnius.

A total of 150 entries were submitted to the competition. The 40 projects selected by the jury will be exhibited at the Lithuanian Union of Architects until the 20th of November. The exhibition will then travel to other cities such as Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys.

“Žvilgsnis į save” is a competition for architects and the public to promote quality architecture that has been held since 2003.
