Bokšto skveras claims the prestigious international accolade at the Architizer A+ Awards

Bokšto skveras, the renowned business and leisure complex, has received prestigious recognition as one of the outstanding projects at the international architecture competition, the Architizer A+ Awards. The complex has been granted the Special Mention Award in the highly competitive Commercial Renovations & Additions category. It is the first commercial project in Lithuania to attain this distinguished award.

“This latest international accolade further solidifies Bokšto skveras as a shining example of how to successfully revitalise a neglected cultural heritage building, seamlessly adapting it to meet modern human needs. The project’s extraordinary transformation showcases a commitment to preserving the building’s historical value. Instead of merely replicating what was lost, we tried to reimagine the complex in a manner that marries the past with the present,” says Raimonda Mailaitė, Marketing Manager at Bokšto skveras.

Spanning over 13,000 square metres, the extensive reconstruction of the complex was a labour of love that spanned thirteen years, including seven years of meticulous archaeological research. The complex space includes offices, a luxurious day spa, an exquisite restaurant, versatile event venues and exclusive private apartments.

The visionary architects behind this project include Studio Seilern Architects (Christina Seilern, Luis Feliciano Monteiro and Povilas Jurevičius), ARCHINOVA (Antanas Gvildys, Sigita Lapienytė and Ingrida Revuckaitė), landscape architects, Buckley Design Associates (Jamie Liversedge) and Terra Firma LT (Ramunė Baniulienė and Linas Ūsas). The interior design of each unique space was crafted by esteemed professionals, including Marius Mateika, architect and interior designer at Baltisches Haus, Akiko Tutlys, architect and interior designer at ArchDesign and the innovative YES.design.architecture interior design studio.

The 11th edition of the Architizer A+Awards witnessed an exceptional turnout, with over 5,000 entries pouring in from 96 countries worldwide. This competition stands as one of the architectural community’s most important and highly anticipated events.

New York-based Architizer, the world’s largest digital platform for architecture has been a trailblazer in nurturing creativity within the industry.
